Bongino: Ocasio-Cortez, Darling of the Progressive Socialist Democrats

Dan Bongino, a conservative commentator and former Secret Service agent, recently took aim at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the newly elected Democratic representative from New York. In a fiery segment on his show, Bongino criticized Ocasio-Cortez for her recent comments about implementing a 70 percent tax rate on the wealthy.

Bongino sarcastically suggested that Ocasio-Cortez should lead by example and donate 70 percent of her own income to the government. He also mocked her for being “sparkly-eyed but dumb as a doorknob” and for gaining prominence among other “lackluster loud-mouthed Democrats.”

Bongino’s criticism of Ocasio-Cortez is not surprising, as he is known for his staunchly pro-Trump commentary and criticism of the Democratic party. However, his comments also highlight the ongoing divide between conservatives and progressives on issues such as taxation and government spending.

In another segment, Bongino also discussed the idea of a “voluntary” 70 percent tax rate, pointing out the flaws in such a proposal and arguing that it would ultimately lead to a decrease in government revenue.

Bongino’s passionate and often controversial commentary has gained him a loyal following among conservatives. However, his attacks on Ocasio-Cortez and other progressive figures may only serve to further polarize the political landscape.
